Une délégation de la COSATU à nouveau expulsée du Zimbabwe
Une délégation du Congrès des syndicats sud-africains (COSATU, affilié à la CISL) arrivée aujourd’hui au Zimbabwe en a immédiatement été expulsée par les autorités de l’immigration. La délégation de la COSATU, menée par son secrétaire général, Zwelinzima Vavi, devait effectuer une visite de 48 heures au Zimbabwe. Cette visite s’inscrivait dans le contexte de la solidarité internationale entre travailleurs. Les délégués de la COSATU avaient l’intention de discuter avec les syndicalistes de la ZCTU (Congrès des syndicats du Zimbabwe, affilié à la CISL) de questions liées aux intérêts des travailleurs du Zimbabwe et de la région. [Lire] - 22 October 2004 President Mugabe urged to release top trade union leaders from jail The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) today demanded that Zimbabwe authorities immediately release four trade union leaders, held since yesterday (5 August 2004) under public security charges after being arrested during a trade union workshop in the central city of Gweru. Together with its Nairobi-based African regional Organisation (ICFTU-AFRO), the ICFTU also demanded that the charges be dropped.
